Another beautiful post! And congratulations on 'Drifting' - that's wonderful news!
I love how you've described the characteristics - even personality! - of each type of cloud. Absolutely wonderful!
We used to head out on 'cloud safaris' - we must do it again, actually - and for his birthday a few years ago I signed my husband up for membership to the Cloud Appreciation Society. Clouds are such magical things - and not just clouds, either, but other related meteorological phenomena, too. I was impressed when I was doing the newspaper crossword the other day - one of the solutions was 'Fogbow'! 🤣
Thank you so much Rebecca!! You always write the kindest comments with interesting insights. Sending you a virtual hug! xx
I love that you went on "cloud safaris" and what a super idea to gift your husband a membership. I found the Cloud Appreciation Society a bit ago and have enjoyed browsing their website---some really fascinating videos to watch as well as great info!
I'm so happy you find clouds magical as well---I love how they appeal to our sense of wonder and really are magical like you said. Aren't you smart---I didn't realize there were Fogbows. I'm finding the more I delve into this subject the more fascinating it becomes. Like opening a treasure box of information as well as stirring imagination in an awe inspiring way! xx
'Like opening a treasure box of information' - yes yes yes! Clouds are so fascinating, like so many things in nature too, actually - but clouds, well, they're so ethereal; un-pin-down-able. Special, special things. ⛅️
Do you have the book "A Cloud A Day" by Gavin Pretor-Pinney? I've been browsing the sample on Amazon and thinking I'm going to order it. And I so agree, cloud watching is undervalued---especially with adults. Thanks so much for your kind words about my studies. Now to hunker down, get bold and start larger cloudscapes! ;)
